Morning In Maine Captain's Log

Date June 22

The sailing season is well underway. We are busy most every day and are not dodging rain like last year. There is a 750 foot oil drilling rig just outside the Harbor. It is being repaired by a major construction company here in Maine. It is due to leave in early July but until then it creates interest in the sailing trips. Poco is anxious to see new faces aboard. Yesterday he had a beautiful golden retreiver named Maggie, and on Friday he will entertain two pals. Please remember we are a pet friendly cruise.
Well, it off to the ship

Date May 17 2010

We have completed our spring outfitting and had our first shakedown cruise.
The vessel handled with all the grace we expected. We plan on regular sailing through May The one pm trip is the best trip of the day as it is warmer and usually better wind. Please make reservations as we are still training the crew. May sailing is cool the water temp is about 45-48 degrees so the wind will be about the same. Bring warm jackets. Poco is anxous to see you all as I am and the crew. We look forward to having you aboard.

The boat has been busy. We have had runs everyday for the past 26 days. The weather has been hot thus more people are going out to sea where it is cooler.
We are wetting POCO between runs to keep him cool I have taken him to the beach next door for a few minutes of water ball, which he loves. Many repeat customers have been with us this year. I do enjoy seeing them again. Here is hoping for a good Sept.

Date May 19 2009

We launched on May 15 and have been at the dock doing last minute detailing for a few days. We finally painted the decks today which is the last BIG project before the season. Tommorow night we have a private charter of wardens and police officers.
The season looks good although it is expected that more people will make last minute decissions on travel this season. To us that means that we may have empty or very full trips with little or no warning. If you are planning a trip to Rockland and want to sail contact us early for confirmation of a trip
